December 2008
Author review of my best chapter so far is a good way to be ending 2008. Then some writing, later family new year
Settling in to sub-zero Sussex
just wrote seemingly my first cheque in five years, have cashed plenty though =)
2008 was the end of bling culture, thankfully
reducing duck stock and tidying up
Gained parenting plus one today giving perception plus 10 and a much needed endurance plus 10
braving central London, probably Natural History Museum
turning into a nice afternoon after an early start from M, catching up on friends’ tweets and listening to Bon iver, hope you are having fun
merry christmas all, presents wrapped, stockings in place, time for bed
hunting through recipe books, Jane Grigson’s walnut stuffing with the duck so far
All presents arrived and some are even wrapped. Christmas starts properly now. Have a great Christmas
wondering how hard it would be to recycle all the old electronics we all own, I know some tips take them, but mostly they sit in cupboards
playing Gregorian chants to drown out the thump thump from the Polish DJ next door
liking my present from O’Reilly a moleskine with a “work on stuff that matters” wrap http://bit.ly/matters
on hold on last conference call of the year, then off to get the oo
next year I’m planning on making more things with my hands - cookery, gardening, craft and electronics, rather than only writing
planning on exploring my Arup drivers of change card box set http://bit.ly/arupdriversofchange over christmas break
have a great Christmas all
M is now smiling in response to us, it is making me happy
wishing I had the time and talent to make a γ1 http://www.amb.org/audio/gamma1/ a credit card sized DAC plus the Mini³ headphone amp too
beer at desk, only one day to go
boo, Lucy’s main present is lost in the post and now out of stock. They’ve refunded me, but I now need to think of something else…
third cold this month, or maybe this one is mutating. back to writing again, summarising activity theory for the book
wrapping presents and proxying father christmas / santa claus
early evening grumping slowly abating, glass of wine and 500 words before dinner
off to the forest before it gets too dark, having chased missing deliveries
Welcome back @plasticbagUK
my turn on 24ways today, properly associating time with published content http://tinyurl.com/43unle
OH: busymess - an evening’s activities with two children.
in other news Rolando on the tube does not make friends - good fun though
unexpectedly cranking though documentation, looking forward to the weekend though…

another poor night, M with a cold is hard work.
quick polish of my 24ways article
confirming hopefully interesting things about timestamps and publishing on the web
cpan continues to make me grumpy and confused, rubygems is bliss in comparison
Max fell asleep at 4:30 quite tired today
discovering new levels of tiredness, like they released an expansion pack and I had to wait until 4:30 to get it
completely bored of being a bit ill and wondering if daily lemsip is bad for you…
Dipping into David Mackay’s “Sustainable Energy - without the hot air”, seems well researched http://www.withouthotair.com/ free 250pg book
had haircut, finished expenses, bought things online and poked at chapter, it fought back so time for bed to be fresh tomorrow
it is hard to access t-mobile or boingo wifi accounts unless in a hotspot, this seems unnecessarily obtuse and is making expenses hard work
ah boingo hid it under a “customer service tab”
cross that boingo offer no obvious means of cancelling a contract. I mean ffs if you offer signup can I cancel too
