checked in and off to pack for sgfoo, all whilst celebrating Lucy’s birthday, unfortunate timing.
In taqueria for birthday lunch with Lucy, tequila and tasty food making up for filthy wet day.
in terms of the book, proposal was done last autumn and I’m two chapters in to the real thing. New site for it next week after sg foo camp
I signed my book contract! I’m writing a book for O’Reilly on web community and social networks.

I got my head filled with social graph theory with a physics slant from @ianmulvany very interesting. Several good papers to read.
back home, had lunch and the little boy is asleep. Now for a bit of work.
Successfully finished Lucy’s birthday presents in Walthamstow.
I now have little boy asleep on my chest with laptop balanced below him on my knee and I’m in a deep slouch. Good for reading only really…
worst nights sleep in a long time, boo
in work for an hour long meeting then back home to take over care for the little boy.

at home with poorly boy, norovirus perhaps, he can’t hold anything down, but he has a bad cold too.
note to self: don’t give little boys who are ill milk, even if you think it will do them good. You’ll see it again in an hour…
At the British Library, anyone interested in lunch in soho / kings cross area, along the victoria line at 1ish.
I had lunch in Finsbury Park with @fidothe and @jystewart, now finishing coffee in said same Front Room, then heading home to my sickly boy.
Oscar is ill, poor boy. Lucy is doing the early shift and I’m doing later. Off to the library.
Heading for bed, can barely keep my eyes open.
upgraded Lucy’s macbook (obviously) made storage for bathroom and watched Lucy hang pictures. Racing up to the wire with my xtech proposal
Anyone want 2x 512MB 200pin sodimm ddr2 pc2-5300. They are the 1G from lucys macbook. Nine months old, but free for the taking.
@mattb voltage issues, USB is 500mA at 5V, my macbook pro is 18.5V and 4.6A it would be handy to charge like that.
Deciding that white tea is the new coffee surrogate

zapping podcasts and freeing up 4G of diskspace to immediately fill it with pictures, thinking about a new hard drive for my macbook pro
3hrs to get back from Brighton, not a great journey, little boy back to sleep though, so time for a glass of wine.
slow traffic leaving Brighton, now in service station on m25 oh the joy
firewire based card reader too would be nice and faster than this waiting around
now providing email for most of my family
nice lunch a play in the park and some coffee before the long slog home.
awake and having 10 minutes with a cup of coffee and my email, the luxury of a lie-in of sorts (I know it is 8am on a Sunday)
off to family birthday lunch
bedtime in brighton for those of us with children, generally a good day, night all.
Determining to read as much as possible this year and widely, i’m enjoying myself delving in and out of subject areas making connections.
Helping my brother further down the path with his new iMac. Giving over the phone help with iPhoto and backup advice.

3 hours til I head for Brighton on the train, time to focus.

feeling coldy, but slept over eight hours last night, still feel like I have only a vague grasp on the world. Proposal and paperwork beckon.
Dinner in ping pong and now heading home
looking for references to the flight of the rich from urbanisation in Victorian England. I remember a great Open U programme long ago 15 yrs
My XTech proposal is getting a bit ranty, fun, but ranty. Time to put it to one side for a moment, deadline is tomorrow.
